Recreational Cheerleading is designed to teach athletes the basics of cheerleading. Safe stunting and introduction to choreography are two of the main focuses in recreational cheerleading. No experience is required in the recreational program. After developing the basic skills in the recreational cheerleading program, athletes may be selected by the coaching staff and invited to train in a more structured, skill-focused program.
Recreational cheerleading classes are held once per week One class is set up for children ages 6-7 and another class is set up for children ages 8-14.
Recreational cheerleading follows the skills of USASF (United States All Star Federation) Level 1 Cheerleading, with some enhancements. Athletes work on gymnastics skills such as forward rolls, handstands, cartwheels, round-offs, and front and back walkovers. Athletes should have an independent handstand, perfected cartwheel, and be close to independently executing a back walk-over prior to advancing to the competitive program.
A choreographed routine is put together twice per year to show friends and family. We love performing for you as much as you love watching us!
Attire for recreational cheerleading is shorts and a t-shirt or tank top. Crop tops are not permitted at practice or performance (USASF Image Policy). Clean, indoor running shoes are required. Smiles and positive attitudes are also mandatory!
